VFlib 3.7.2 is released!
VFlib 3.6.10 and later contains an automatic vflibcap (font definition database) file generator, named vflmkcaptex, so that DVI files with PostScript fonts can be previewed/printed directly.
VFlib is a software component (a font rasteriser library) that supports multiple font formats. It hides the font format of font files and provides a unified API for all supported font formats to obtain glyphs. Thus, programmers for application software need not have knowledge on font file formats. Read abstruct of VFlib.
VFlib is distributed with all source code under the terms of GNU Library General Public License. You can read, understand and improve it! You can browse the latest source code tree (version 3.6.12).
VFlib does not depend on operating and window systems - it has own font file parser inside. VFlib is tested on FreeBSD, Linux, SunOS 4, Solaris 2.5, and OS/2.
